The Order of the Augustinian Canons goes back to Saint Augustine, who as Bishop of Hippo Regius (located in what is now Algeria) in the early 5th century.
The Canonry of Klosterneuburg Monastery has about 50 members from Austria, Germany, Norway, Iceland, Poland, Romania, the United States of America and Vietnam.
Since its foundation in the 12th century, Klosterneuburg Abbey has had a multitude of vocations fulfilled by the canons and the staff in a variety of areas.
